Mission Statement
The College of Education & Human Services shall define its purpose by maintaining a mission statement that meets the following criteria: relates to and supports the university’s stated mission; accurately describes the unit and its characteristics; is developed with input from students, faculty, and administrators; is approved by the Executive Committee and faculty members; and is considered for revision every three years. The mission statement is the foundation upon which the College of Education and Human Services goals are developed.
The College of Education & Human Services provides quality instruction through offering comprehensive degree programs in the liberal arts, pre-professional, and professional service areas at the associate, baccalaureate, masters, specialist, and doctoral levels. In addition to a primary focus on preparing future teachers and other professionals, faculty members of the College of Education & Human Services also maintain a commitment to engage in the scholarly pursuits of research and service for the advancement and sharing of knowledge.
Accreditation
The College of Education & Human Services at Valdosta State University is accredited by National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) until fall of 2013 and is an American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) award winning institution. We continually strive for excellence with each renewal for accreditation from NCATE.
Each individual teacher preparation program at the College of Education & Human Services is accredited by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
