Harley Langdale, Jr., College of Business Administration
BELK HUDSON MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

This endowed scholarship provided by Belk-Hudson of Valdosta, will be awarded to an outstanding management major. The renewable scholarship is for approximately $2,000. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. The recipient must be pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration degree.
  2. The recipient must maintain a 2.8 grade point average and make satisfactory progress toward completion of the BBA degree.
  3. The scholarship is renewable if the student maintains a 2.8 grade point average.
  4. Recipients are selected by the College of Business Administration. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

CITIZENS COMMUNITY BANK SCHOLARHSIP

This scholarship is awarded based on student recommendations by the Dean of the College of Business Administration. This renewable scholarship is for approximately $1,000. Criteria for application are as follows:

  1. Recipient must have an SAT score of 1000 or higher.
  2. Recipient must have a high school grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Recipient must have a current FAFSA on fill at the Office of Financial Aid.
  4. Preference will be given to recipients who reside in Lowndes, Brooks, Cook,   Echols, or Lanier Counties in Georgia.
  5. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

CONNIE C. FREDENBERGER SCHOLARSHIP

The Connie C. Fredenberger Scholarship will be awarded based on financial need. This scholarship is for approximately $1,000. Criteria for application are as follows:

  1. Recipient must be a non-traditional female management major.
  2. Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
  3. Recipient must have an active file with the Office of Financial Aid.
  4. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

J-M-E ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP

This annual scholarship of $1,000 was created to finance one annual scholarship for a Valdosta State University accounting major. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipients must be a rising junior accounting student at VSU.
  2. Recipients must have a minimum grade point average of 2.8 after completing their sophomore year curriculum.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

JAMES L. DEWAR, SR. – PARK AVENUE BANK SCHOLARSHIP

This endowed scholarship was created in honor of Mr. Dewar, Sr. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipients must be graduates of any secondary school located in Lowndes County.
  2. Recipients must be majoring in business administration.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

FIRST STATE BANK AND TRUST STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIP

This Scholarship is awarded to assist a student majoring in business who is participating in a study abroad program.

  1. Student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 after completing their sophomore curriculum.
  2. Student must be seeking financial assistance for a study abroad program.
  3. Recipients are selected by the Langdale College of Business.

GEORGIA GULF SULFUR BUSINESS – ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by the Georgia Gulf Sulfur Corporation to recognize outstanding performance in the classroom and the field of competition. This is a renewable scholarship. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be fully admitted to Valdosta State University.
  2. Recipient must be majoring in one of the business areas within the College of Business.
  3. Recipient must have a minimum SAT score of 950.
  4. Recipient must be participating in one of VSU’s intercollegiate athletic teams.
  5. Recipient must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
  6. Recipient must continue to major in the College of Business Administration as well as continue to participate in one of VSU’s intercollegiate athletic teams.
  7. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

GAR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

This $500 scholarship is partially funded by the GAR foundation. The GAR foundation scholarship is awarded based merit. This scholarship is renewable for one year. Criteria for application include:

  1. Recipient must be a business major.
  2. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale grade point average for the scholarship to be renewable.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

HENDERSON & GODBEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This annual scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to an outstanding accounting student. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be a rising senior accounting student at Valdosta State University.
  2. Recipient must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 after completing their junior year curriculum in accounting.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

JOHN HENRY DORMINY SCHOLARSHIP

 The scholarship is provided by the Dorminy Trust Fund. This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be an incoming freshman.
  2. Recipient must be majoring in one of the business areas within the College of Business Administration.
  3. Recipient must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

JUSTIN T. HOBDY ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP

This annual scholarship of $2,600 was created in 2006 to honor the memory of Justin T. Hobdy, a former accounting student at the Langdale College. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be a junior accounting major.  
  2. Recipient must have demonstrated financial need.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

This scholarship is awarded based on student recommendation by the Dean of the College of Business Administration. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be majoring in business administration.
  2. Recipient must be in good academic standing.
  3. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

STEELE SCHOLARSHIP

The Steele Scholarship is the Premier scholarship of the Harley Langdale, Jr., College of Business Administration, and this endowed scholarship was created in 2002 to honor the memory of Rea and Lillian Steele. This scholarship is renewable for up to 3 years. Criteria for application include the following:

  1. Recipient must be an outstanding incoming freshmen or transfer student.
  2. Recipient must be majoring in one of the five business disciplines.
  3. Recipient must have a minimum SAT score of 1240.
  4. Recipient must have a high school or transfer grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
  5. Recipient must be involved in activities, show leadership skills, be active in the community, and show financial need.
  6. Recipient must have a FAFSA on file with the Office of Financial Aid.
  7. Recipient must maintain a grade point average of 3.25 and continue to pursue a BBA degree for the scholarship to be renewable.
  8. Apply to the Office of Financial Aid by completing a VSU General Scholarship Application.

The application must be received no later than March 1. Only complete applications will be considered.

  3. Recipients are selected by the Langdale College of Business.
