Meet the Staff

Jacob Tasseff

Graduate Hall Director

Jacob Tasseff Staff Photo

Jacob Tasseff comes to Valdosta from Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a recent graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. While at Purdue, Jacob was very involved on campus and with student life through positions such as a campus tour guide, resident assistant, staff resident, and member of the student judicial board overseeing student conduct hearings. This involvement led to his desire to pursue a Master’s degree in Higher Education, which he will begin this fall semester at VSU.

Jacob loves to spend his time being active, whether indoors or out, and he looks forward to being able to wear shorts on a regular basis as he is finally escaping the cold winters found in the Midwest. When he is not being active or enjoying the sun’s warmth on his legs, he can most likely be found catching up on some of his favorite TV shows, a list that tends to vary.  He is currently on a BBC kick with titles such as Sherlock, Luther, and Doctor Who. Jacob is looking forward to meeting and getting to know many new people at VSU, so feel free to introduce yourself whenever you see him around.

Hannah Holmes

Complex Director

Hannah Holmes PhotoHannah Holmes is a small town girl from North Georgia, but has made a new residency in Valdosta in the fall of 2009. Hannah studied English Language and Literature as her major and Anthropology during her undergraduate at VSU, graduating in the spring of 2013. Throughout her undergrad years, Hannah worked as a tutor at the Student Success Center, helping students in the subjects of English, Grammar, Reading, and Anthropology. After living in the residence hall for her first two years at VSU, Hannah decided that it was time to give back to the University by becoming an RA. Hannah was an RA for 2 years, residing in Patterson Hall. After graduation, Hannah started a new journey by beginning her Master’s program in the field of Composition and Rhetoric. Hannah took a year break from the Housing department by working as a Graduate Assistant for the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences during her first year. However, Hannah could not stay away from Housing and is now working as the Residence Hall Director for Centennial Hall this summer. After graduation in spring 2015, Hannah will adventure away from Valdosta in pursuit of her PhD with hopes of becoming a University professor.
