The Strategic Plan

In the fall of 2017, VSU adopted a new vision for itself – one in which the University committed itself to being a catalyst for regional comprehensive progress. This Strategic Plan establishes a foundation to build upon as we design a blueprint for increasing the number of graduates produced, facilitate more transformational and experiential learning opportunities for those graduates, and enhance the University’s existing impact on the region we serve.

Our Progress

If our students are to compete on the national stage, they need to be as polished and prepared as possible once they graduate. We’re making strategic investments in faculty and staff to implement University-wide changes that will produce an ever-growing, confident, and knowledgeable student body who complete their degree in a timely manner, think creatively and contribute both regionally and globally.

Develop knowledge, skills, and values

Experiential learning isn’t just a buzzword at VSU; it’s a fundamental element in each student’s education. Valdosta State University will push itself further to provide students with even more transformative learning opportunities, both in and out of the classroom, in order to meet the evolving needs of the student body.

A Regional Impact

In order for Valdosta State University to be South Georgia’s Regional Comprehensive University, it must provide inclusive support across its region. Valdosta State University will establish a center to address the needs of its community and increase regional impact by serving as a resource for South Georgia.
