Palms Invitational Scholarship Application

The Palms Scholars Award 

  • Award amount: $2,000 per year: $1,000 for fall semester and $1,000 for spring semester.
  • Non-renewable (One-time award only)
  • Recipients are required to complete a 30-hour service activity each semester. A contract with activity outline and post-activity reflection will be submitted for review.
  • Rolling Deadline (Awarded throughout the year)

Requirements:

  • Student has applied and been accepted to VSU and
  • 2.8 or higher high school Academic GPA and
  • 25 and above ACT composite score (out of 36) or
  • 1210 and above SAT composite (out of 1600)

    *If there is no ACT or SAT score, then the high school GPA is a 3.2 or higher.

Students meeting the above criteria are invited to apply for a Palms Scholarship.

    • The essay portion is required and applications will not be evaluated if the essay is not submitted. Additionally, an essay that is not from one of the topics below will not be considered. 

    Choose from one of the following topics:

    1. Describe a time when you worked hard for something, but you did not succeed. What did you learn from this experience?

    2. What character trait would you like to develop in yourself, that you do not have yet?

    3. What social issue with the US requires the most attention based on your personal experiences and /or opinion?
