More Power to Make Large Purchases

Purchasing Power provides you with a responsible way to fit large or unexpected purchases into your budget.

Although this program is not a discount program, Purchasing Power allows you to purchase items and pay for them through payroll deductions. Instead of using cash or credit, you can make manageable payments over a 6-to-12-month period. You’ll always know the total product cost up front, and there are no credit checks, late fees or other hidden fees.

Program eligibility

You are eligible to participate in the Purchasing Power Program if:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have been an active and full-time employee of the University System of Georgia for at least 12 months
  • You earn at least $20,000 a year
  • You have a bank account or credit card (to be used in case of non-payment via payroll deduction)

Team Georgia at Work

As a state employee, you can also get discounts on tickets to sporting events, concerts and tourist attractions, insurance, hotels, electronics, and computers through Team Georgia at Work.  

PATH2COLLEGE

The cost of higher education is going up but saving for college doesn’t need to be a burden. With the Path2College 529 Plan, there’s no big upfront investment (just $25 to start) and you can start saving quickly and easily.

By setting up recurring contributions from your bank account, making regular contributions is hassle free.

While your contributions are not tax-free, any earnings are free from federal income tax when used for qualified expenses. And you get a tax credit on state taxes!

Funds can be used at any accredited university, college or vocational school nationwide — and many abroad. In addition, up to $10,000 annually can be used toward K-12 school tuition per student from all 529 plans.

The Path2College 529 Plan can be used to pay for tuition, certain room and board costs, computers and related technology expenses as well as fees, books, supplies, and other equipment at a post-secondary school (i.e. college or university).
