Federal Unsubsidized Stafford LoansThe unsubsidized loan is not need-based and was created for borrowers who do notqualify for federal interest subsidies. The Federal Government does not pay any of theinterest for these loans. The student either pays the interest while in school and duringthe six-month grace period or it is added to the balance of the loan.Loan Option for Georgia Residents:The Student Access Loan (SAL) is a fixed rate loan designed to assist undergraduatecollege students who meet Georgia residency requirements and have a gap in meetingtheir educational costs. This allows you to receive Florida Prepaid credit prior to the fee paymentdeadline, reducing your out-of-pocket cost.
