Annual Gala Showcases a Night in Hollywood

VALDOSTA -- If you missed the opportunity to strut down the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards Ceremony, no need to worry, your chance for glitz and glamour is just around the corner. The second annual “A Blazin’ Hot Night…World Premier” is scheduled for April 9, in the new Student Union.

This year’s event comes with all the pageantry reminiscent of Hollywood past and present. Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will be treated to a red carpet welcome, cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions.

Throughout the evening, guests may bid on a variety of auction items including sporting trips, hunting excursions, private dinner parties, golf memberships, local art work and much more.

Golf enthusiasts will have an opportunity to enter a drawing to win a trip to The Masters on April 10-11. The winner will receive two tournament tickets for Saturday and Sunday, accommodations at the Ritz Carlton Lodge and round trip air transportation from Valdosta to Augusta. Only 100 tickets will be sold in advance at a cost of $100 each.

Proceeds from the dinner and auctions will benefit the VSU Foundation, Inc., which exists to support the development of educational excellence at Valdosta State University.
