S.A.V.E. Surveys Student Opinions on Green Fee

VALDOSTA - Students Against Violating the Environment encourages Valdosta State University students to participate in a survey regarding the proposed Green Fee.

The optional fee will fund research about maximizing energy efficiency practices across campus. Funding will also support future purchases of alternative energy sources, such as solar panels and geothermal energy systems for VSU.

Students can participate in the brief online survey, which will gather information regarding students’ awareness of current energy practices and their willingness to pay an optional fee of $1-30 each year. A link to the electronic questionnaire was distributed via e-mail through Blazenet and will remain open through October 24. Individual responses will remain confidential. The results will be shared with the Student Fees Committee and made public following completion.

S.A.V.E. is a student organization that actively encourages VSU’s movement toward cleaner energy policies. The group works with students and administration on addressing energy issues and pursuing new technology that takes advantage of renewable energy sources. Through participation in student activities and distribution of information, S.A.V.E. intends to further encourage open dialogue with the VSU community through the sharing of knowledge.
