VSU Encourages a Safe Spring Break

Valdosta State University and BACCHUS & GAMMA, a nation-wide peer educator organization, will sponsor "Safe Spring Break" on March 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Palms Quad located on the campus of VSU.

"Safe Spring Break" is an informational fair for VSU students that focuses on informing students on how to exercise good judgment while enjoying spring break. The theme this year is "Get a Clue" and will focus on safe partying, date rape prevention, and guides for making healthy decisions during spring break.

There will be music, give-a-ways, and free food. Also included will be DUI demonstrations and an impaired driver obstacle course demonstrating the dangers of drinking and driving. Campus and community agencies will be able to set up display tables offering information on their services and products.

The event is also great way to let students know about services and products offered by local businesses. There will be no charge for booth space. No sales are permitted at the fair, but information, samples, and discount cards for future student use and purchases are allowed. Student and community participation is encouraged.

To register or for more information, contact the VSU Office of Alcohol and Other Drug Education at (229) 259-5111.
