Joseph Culverhouse

Professor Culverhouse joined the faculty of Valdosta State after teaching media writing courses at the University of North Georgia. Joseph has previously worked in politics as a Planner in Governor Nathan Deal’s administration and was an inaugural member of the University of Georgia’s Screenwriting MFA Program. He has worked in the music industry with the band Widespread Panic, as well as concerts for acts such as Jason Aldean, Jason Isbell, and the Zac Brown Band. Professor Culverhouse has also worked with Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, ESPN U, and the NCAA Final Four. He enjoys helping students perfect their storytelling abilities through various writing courses, and is always working on his next big screenplay.
