Anthony Duva

Adjunct Instructor

Dr. Anthony W. Duva attended the University of Florida on a basketball scholarship, graduating in 1971 with a B.S. degree in Advertising & Journalism. He graduated from law school at the University of Florida, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1973. In 1997, he received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. He earned his Doctor of Public Administration from Valdosta State University in December, 2018 and has served as an adjunct instructor/professor since that time. His primary academic interests include health care law, health policy, effective writing, public administration, economic development, real estate law & transactions, administrative law, non-profit management, constitutional law, contracts, and program operations & evaluation.

Dr. Duva is recently retired from a fifty-year+ career in business, practicing law, and non-profit philanthropic development, and management. Besides teaching at VSU, he consults in the areas of Constitutional law, evidence, legal procedure, business operations, effective writing & communication, government accountability and efficiency (many times a good example of an oxymoron), health care law, healthcare policy, & hospital operations (including reimbursement analysis in graduate medical education).

He loves to write and is currently working on writing his first novel (fiction), as well as a series of children’s books based on the lives and adventures of his 7 grand-children and his dog Beaux. His greatest passion and joy is spending time with his wife of 52 years, his family (two sons, daughters-in-law and 7 grandchildren), as well as the “neighborhood kids,” who keep him younger than his 74 years of age!
