The Office of Academic Affairs at Valdosta State University (VSU) is dedicated to academic student success. In addition to ensuring the integrity of its degree programs, the Office promotes the academic mission of the university through administering an array of quality undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition to our regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for degrees through the doctoral level, we have specialized accreditation in those degree programs that offer such designations.
VSU is proud of its faculty of nearly 500 members, composed of talented teachers/scholars/advisors, dedicated to helping our students become life-long learners. Whether in the classroom, the laboratory, the studio, out in the field, or in their offices, these faculty members strive to provide challenging and innovative instruction. At the same time, these faculty members remain active in their professions, performing research, producing scholarly and creative work, and participating in a variety of professional and community organizations.
Members of our student body meet the high admission standards, and they may choose from a diverse number of educational options: students may take classes in a traditional classroom or completely or partially on-line; they may choose to spend a summer, semester, or year studying abroad; they may participate in an internship or have a service-learning experience.
The Office for Academic Affairs is responsible for helping both students and faculty members achieve their academic and professional goals. Along with the academic deans, directors, and department heads, Academic Affairs administers existing programs, revises and reviews those programs, and develops new ones. The Office also facilitates academic policies, procedures, and standards.
This website provides information to both faculty members and students in all academic areas. Our goal is to help you be successful both in and out of the classroom. VSU is a growing and dynamic institution, and academics are at the heart of our growth and of our mission. We are here to foster academic success - that is who we are, that is what we do, one student at a time.
