Initiatives for Community Engagement through Applied Research

Initiatives for Community Engagement Through Applied Research (iCETAR)
iCETAR primary purpose is to strengthen CoSM’s relationship with the local community and several community stakeholders in the immediate community and surrounding counties (schools, businesses, city officials and industry). We are currently reaching the surrounding counties through our relationship and strategic partnership with the Center for South Georgia Regional impact (SGRI). We aspire to become the primary source of information and services related to STEM research in the College of Science and Mathematics and the community.

About iCETAR
iCETAR has been charged with being a resource for inter-community collaborations and opportunities
The Center manages a database of faculty expertise, aligning the skills and specializations of the College of Science and Mathematics faculty with their respective areas of knowledge.
iCETAR will continue to collaborate with SGRI and local industry to offer consultancy opportunities for students and faculty, as well as internship opportunities for COSM students.
iCETAR is currently working with SGRI and PACE to provide specialized engineering business process training to employees at the local branch of Saft. Initial logistics and cost models are being developed, and conversations with company personnel are ongoing. Similar training requests have also been received from CJB Companies.
