Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) is a system developed by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) to support the continuous growth and development of teachers. TKES has multiple components – the Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS), Surveys of Instructional Practice, and measures of Student Growth and Academic Achievement.

A field evaluation that aligns with the GaDOE Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) was developed for use by teacher candidates. The elements of this evaluation called CAPS (Candidate Assessment on Performance Standards) or Intern Keys have been used by initial teacher preparation programs since 2014.
