This form serves as an application for scholarships and/or admission to Valdosta State University's BFA in Theatre degree program (tracks in performance [audition required for admission], musical theatre [audition required for admission], production, and theatre management) and the BFA in Dance degree program.

  • November 14-17, 2019; CAP United Auditions @ Hilton Atlanta Northeast, Peachtree Corners, GA. Times determined by CAP United. CAP United will run this audition, apply through CAP United's process.
    January 3 - 5, 2020; The College Auditions Consortium (led by Tim Evanicki) held at the Straz Center, Tampa, FL. VSU is scheduling appointments for auditions/interviews, Friday1/4/20 and Saturday 1/5/20 between the hours of 9:30 am and 3:30 pm. Musical Theatre Candidates will need to attend the group dance call from 4-5:30 on the day of their audition.
    Friday, January 10, 2020; Pebblebrook High School, Mableton, GA. This is an audition exclusively for VSU Theatre and Dance. Musical Theatre and Dance candidates should check in at 4 PM; Performance, Production, and Management candidates should check in at 6 PM.
    Saturday, February 22, 2020; Valdosta State University, Valdosta, GA; Check in time 9:30 AM for Dance and Musical Theatre candidates in UC Dance Studio. Check in time 11 AM for Performance, Production, and Management candidates at the Fine Arts Building. APPLICATION MATERIALS DUE 5 PM, FEBRUARY 14. 2020.
    February 26 - March 1, 2020; National High School Dance Festival, Pittsburgh, PA. Times determined by NHSDF. NHSDF will run this audition, apply through NHSDF's process.

    For Musical Theatre, you should prepare 32 bars each for two contrasting songs and a monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Please list song titles, source material, composer and lyricist.  Musical Theatre candidates will also participate in the dance class/audition with Dancers.  See below.

    For Performance, you should prepare 2 contrasting monologues, combined should not exceed 2 minutes. Please list play title, author, and character's name.

    Dancers will participate in a dance class incorporating ballet, modern. and/or jazz techniques. Only Dancers applying for a scholarship should prepare a solo dance not to exceed 2 minutes. You can connect your music to our sound system.

    Production and Theatre Management candidates will present your portfolio to a faculty representative, presentation should not exceed 5 minutes immediately followed by a brief interview.
