Valdosta State University accepts applications on a rolling admissions basis. Upon receipt of all required documents, the student is most often notified of an admissions decision within 7-10 business days.

Admission of Home Schooled Students from an Accredited Home School Program

If you have completed your high school program through home school, you may be considered for admission if you meet criteria established by the University System of Georgia and VSU. The following items must be submitted with your application for admission in order to be evaluated.

  • Documentation of home school’s accreditation (accreditation is evaluated individually)
  • Official SAT or ACT scores:

SAT Evidenced-Based Reading & Writing Section: 480

AND

SAT Math Section: 440

ACT

17 Math subscore

AND

17 English OR Reading subscore

  • Official transcript from your accredited home school program showing completion of the USG Required High School Curriculum.  Official transcripts from any other public or private high school(s) or college(s) you have attended must also be submitted.
  • Certification of Immunization (found under the Forms link)

Admission of Home Schooled Students Who Have Not Completed an Accredited Home School Program

  • Official SAT or ACT scores:

SAT Math Section: 440

17 Math subscore

AND

17 English OR Reading subscore

Required High School Curriculum

  • 4 units of mathematics
  • 4 units of English
  • 4 units of science
  • 3 units of social science, including one course focusing on world studies.
  • 2 units in the same foreign language (2 units of American Sign Language may be used to satisfy this requirement.)
