Military Graduation Cords
In recognition of your military service to the United States of America, Valdosta State University would like to honor your graduation by authorizing you to wear red, white, and blue honor cords to your commencement ceremony.
Eligibility: If you graduate and are an honorably discharged U.S. veteran student, currently serving U.S. military student, or ROTC student commissioning upon graduation you are authorized to wear a Military and Veteran Graduation Cord.
Distribution: Cord distribution for the Fall commencement begins on November 1st and for Spring commencement on April 1st. Cords are available for pick up in the Adult & Military Programs Office, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m. and 8:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday. If you are not using GI BILL benefits, you may be asked to show either a copy of your DD-214 or a valid military identification card. ROTC graduates may pick up their cord through their chain of command.
This cord is provided to you by the Adult & Military Programs Office and the Student Veterans of America chapter at VSU.
