Original Story on Sunday, August 4, 2024

VALDOSTA — As Tropical Storm Debby approaches the Florida Bend, Valdosta State University announces it will be closed on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024. During the closure, only essential personnel and residents of campus housing are allowed on campus.

In the event our website valdosta.edu is disabled due to the storm, please see the following social media platforms for the latest updates:

Classes: We are currently in between summer and fall semesters, so classes are not impacted by this closure.

Dining: Dining Services is working with Housing to ensure students who have already arrived on campus and employees living on campus are fed.

Parking: Residential students who have vehicles parked on campus are asked to move their vehicles to one of the parking decks immediately. This will decrease the chance of damage during the storm.
