VSU Says Save The Date for Spring Commencement 2021
VALDOSTA — Dr. Richard A. Carvajal, president of Valdosta State University, is thrilled to announce that the Spring 2021 commencement ceremonies will be held May 7-8 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
Dear Blazer Nation,
One of my favorite things is to share good news with you. That is why I am thrilled to tell you Spring 2021 Commencement will be in person once again. Get ready to celebrate our graduates May 7-8, 2021 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
Many of our seniors shared with me their desire to have an in person Commencement, specifically Commencement once again on the Front Lawn. I know how special and spectacular that celebration is, and the Cabinet and I talked at length to determine if we could safely make that happen. However, the ongoing pandemic just doesn’t allow that option for us. December 2020 Commencement was a terrific celebration, and I know how hard our Event Services team is working to make it just as memorable for our Spring 2021 graduates.
Here is the Spring 2021 Commencement schedule:
FRIDAY, MAY 7, 2021
7:30pm at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium
Langdale College of Business Administration, Dewar College of Education and Human Services, College of the Arts
SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2021
9:00am at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium
Graduate School Ceremony
7:30pm at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium
College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics, and College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Once again, there will be COVID safety protocols in place for Commencement. All graduates, guests, and volunteers will be required to wear a mask. Social distancing is also required, and there will be hand sanitizing stations in place throughout the stadium. Having the three ceremonies will also allow for thorough cleaning of the stadium in between each ceremony.
Graduates get ready for the Countdown to Commencement starting March 1! Information on guest tickets, ordering your cap, gown, ring, Grad Finale, and so much more is coming soon.
Go Blazers!
