VSU Honors Canine Companions with Bark for Life

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University invites all dogs and their owners to Bark for Life, an American Cancer Society Relay for Life event, at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, at the Student Union.
 
Bark for Life honors the lifelong contributions of canine caregivers and helps raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Canine caregivers provide companionship and support to cancer patients. Visit http://til.tt/ETn0 to register for Bark for Life. Registration is $10 for each animal and includes a treat bag. 
 
This year, 38 teams comprised of VSU faculty, staff, and students from departments and organizations across campus are raising funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. As of the morning of Friday, March 31, VSU had raised $6,816.35, or 27.3 percent, of its $25,000 goal.
 
VSU raised $23,050.11 during its 2016 event.
 
The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life movement raises more than $400 million every year for groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and free information and services for cancer patients and their caregivers. Relay for Life of Valdosta State University will take place on Friday, April 21.
