New VSU Wireless Improves User Experience

VALDOSTA – As fall semester approaches, Valdosta State University students, faculty and staff can look forward to an improved wi-fi network, now powered by SmartPass Connect. The new VSU Wireless network helps VSU achieve its goal of being an inviting and dynamic institution, through the use of technology.

Some features offered through VSU Wireless include the following:

• Easy connection - To begin using VSU Wireless, select “VSU-StartHere” from your network listing. A configuration wizard automatically creates a profile for your device.

• One-time setup - You no longer have to re-enter your login information each time you wish to connect to VSU Wireless. After the configuration wizard is complete, your connection will be transferred to the “VSU-Personal” network. For the semester (180 days), your device will automatically connect to “VSU-Personal” when in range.

• Off-campus settings - Even when you are away from campus and not connected to VSU Wireless, your network settings are preserved. When you return to campus, you’re automatically connected.
