University Announces Exemption to Regents' Test

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University’s request for an exemption to the Regents’ Test policy has been approved by the Board of Regents. As a result, spring 2011 will be the final semester that the Regents’ Test will be offered at Valdosta State. By fall semester 2011, VSU will have established new processes by which a passing grade in English 1102 will be an accepted alternative to the Regents’ Test.

During spring 2011, those students registered for both the test (RGTR 0196 and/or RGTE 0197) as well as the Regents’ Preparatory classes (RGTR 0198 and/or RGTE 0199) should continue to proceed as normal. Full guidelines on the new exemption will be available later in the spring semester.
