John H. HummelProfessor

| John H. Hummel joined the faculty of Valdosta State University in 1990.
He is a tenured professor in the Department of Psychology, Counseling and
Guidance, and holds Graduate Faculty status. He received his doctorate
from Georgia State University in 1976, majoring in educational psychology
with a cognate minor in applied behavior analysis. Between 1976 and 1990
he was a professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at the University
of Houston-Downtown. Dr. Hummel's research interests include the application
of behavioral inrventions in educational settings to promote student achievement
and critical thinking. He and his wife, Marcia, have four children.
