Students with degrees in mass media are in high demand and enjoy successful careers in news, radio, television, sports broadcasting, corporate production and more.

The VSYOU Difference

The mass media program at Valdosta State boasts small classes and faculty members who are well respected in their field. Students have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including two television studios with green screen capabilities and a TriCaster mixing system, along with two audio recording suites with a 24-channel multi-track mixer, several digital editing labs, a theatre/screening room and a journalism lab. Students use the mass media facilities to produce five weekly live news productions, which are broadcast throughout the Valdosta-Lowndes County region and online. Students also have the option to complete internships and join a number of student organizations, including the Public Relations Student Society of America, Society of Communication Scholars, Film and Video Society, Association for Women in Communications and Student Society of Collegiate Journalists.
