PACE is dedicated to bringing you lifelong learning programs and activities for adults of all ages. There's something for everyone - Career Development, Leisure Learning, Online Programs, and Learning in Retirement.

Holiday Schedule

The Office of Professional & Community Education will be closed from December 19, 2024 through January 1, 2025 for the VSU Holiday Break. We will respond to email and phone messages periodically during the break.

We will return to the office on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Learning in Retirement

The LIR Spring 2025 Class Schedule/Catalog will be mailed in early January 2025. If you have not been a member of LIR in the past 3 years, email your mailing address to pace@valdosta.edu and we will add you on the mailing list. While you wait, click the link below to view a pdf of the catalog.

If you have never been a member of LIR or haven't participated in several years, give us a call with your mailing address at 229.245.6484 or email your address to pace@valdosta.edu and we'll send you an LIR class catalog when they are available in mid to late July. Be sure to mention in the subject line that you want the LIR catalog.

 

 Financial Aid for Career Training

  • My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA): Spouses of active duty service members are eligible for up to $4000 in funding to pay for career training programs.
  • Army Credentialing Assistance (Army CA): Provides active duty soldiers, reservists, and up to $4000 per year for courses and exams that lead to industry-recognized civilian credentials in an occupational area of your choice.
  • Sallie Mae Student Loans: You can apply for a Sallie Mae Student Loan for noncredit, career training programs as well as undergraduate education. Call 229.245.6484 for more information or email pace@valdosta.edu.
  • Workforce and Career Services: Telamon provides financial assistance to pay for career training. Telamon serves youth, migrants, seasonal farmworkers, and low-income individuals. Call 229.333.7550 to learn more and find out if you are eligible.
