Honors Program: Accepted before 2011

To receive the Honors Certificate, students must complete at least seven Honors courses while maintaining an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above as well as a G. P. A of 3.0 or above in all Honors work. Both the Honors Introductory Seminar and the Honors Capstone Seminar are required. Up to three of the remaining courses may be Honors Options.
Applications for the Honors Certificate must be submitted by the first week of classes of the term in which certification will be complete.

Honors College: Accepted Fall 2011 & after

To receive the Honors Certificate, students must  fulfill the requirement for global experience (9 credit hours of a foreign language, or a study abroad, or an approved substitute) and complete at least nine Honors courses while maintaining an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above as well as a grade of B or above in all Honors work. Required courses include: 

Honors Introductory Seminar HONS 1990 
One Honors Perspectives course 
Core Honors courses (choice) 2-3 
Major Honors courses or Honors Options in the major (choice) 3-2 
Honors Research Methods course HONS 3999 (or approved substitute) 
Honors Capstone Experience (HONS 4990/ HONS 4000/Internship)

Applications for the Honors Certificate must be submitted by the first week of classes of the term in which certification will be complete.
