Apply to the Program

To be "FULLY" admitted to the OAT OBC option, you will need to have met ALL of the following requirements:

  1. Been accepted for admission at VSU
  2. Completed the Orientation for New eMajor Students
  3. Provided evidence of online readiness through successful completion of an online course or the SmarterMeasure assessment instrument.
  4. Met USG core Curriculum requirements (or equivalent)
  5. Exempted from the Regent's Test by earning a "C" or better in ENGL 1102 or equivalent
  6. Successfully completed all Area F courses (or exempted) with a grade of "C" or better
  7. Achieved at least an overall GPA of 2.3
  8. Successfully qualified for 3 experiential credits in ACED 2940 with minimum of 3 years of valid, verifiable work related experiences (replaces ACED 4300-B Internship for OBC students only)
  9. Submitted the Application for Admission to OAT-OBC.
Haven't quite met all the requirements yet? No problem! If you have met Items 1, 2, and 3 in the above list of requirements, you can submit the Application for Admission to OAT-OBC, and an advisor will assist you in "bridging" into the program with "PROVISIONAL" admittance to OAT-OBC.

Students who are "FULLY" admitted into OAT-OBC are allowed to register for the online OBC courses during Early Registration. All other students must wait until after Early Registration. This is to ensure that our working adult students who can't come to campus for classes have the opportunity to sign up for online courses first.
