Scholarship Fund Raisers

The Golden Circle Scholarship & Support Fund is the source of scholarship and assistantship funds for outstanding theatre & dance students.  The Golden Circle Fund is supported through patronages to the VSU Theatre & Dance Season and through special events.  For this season, 4 events are planned (subject to change) from which the profits go to support the Golden Circle Scholarship & Support Fund:

Enjoy a delicious meal and musical theatre entertainment as you support the Golden Circle Scholarship & Support Fund.  The evening’s entertainment will feature great songs by the great writers of the musical theatre canon.

For the past several years, VSU Theatre & Dance has partnered with the Valdosta School of Ballet in the production of a classic ballet benefiting the Golden Circle Scholarship & Support Fund.  Back by popular demand this year is SLEEPING BEAUTY.  In addition to the beautiful score by Tchaikovsky, the production will feature elegant ballerinas, a fairy everyone loves to hate, and a valiant prince.

A unique collaborative fundraiser between VSU’s Music Department and Theatre & Dance Area was the talk of the town the past two year and together these degree programs are presenting a third encore event this year.  Come enjoy the efforts of a new group of local stars and their experts as they present a variety of ballroom dance styles and seek your “vote$” the evening’s big prize, the Audience Favorite Award.

VSU Theatre & Dance continues the Emerging Artists showcase tradition.  Audiences who enjoy watching our student artists develop their talents, can enjoy a performance or two of alternating programs.  Once program features our student graduating from the musical theatre emphasis, the other performance includes students in the performance track of our degree program.  Each performance will spotlight our outstanding students.
