Logging into Remote Desktop

Step 1:

Double-click the Remote-to-VSU icon that was installed on your desktop.

 

Step 2:

Fill in the form appropriately. Then, click the Connect button.

  • Remote Desktop Server: Enter rdc.valdosta.edu into this field.
  • IP Address of the Remote Computer: Enter your office computer's IP Address into this field. This information is written in the Information Security e-mail you received with the Remote Desktop software attached. For HSBA building users, use the IT number of your computer followed by .valdosta.edu (for example: it12345.valdosta.edu:3389).
  • Username: Enter your VSU e-mail username into this field.
  • Password: Enter your VSU Shell / FTP password.

    Note: If you are unsure of of your VSU Shell / FTP password, please submit our Password Reset Form, contact the IT Helpdesk by phone at 229-245-4357, or send an e-mail to helpdesk@valdosta.edu.

 

Step 3:

You should be brought to the normal login screen that you would see if you were standing in your office and logging into your office computer. After you have logged in, you will be controlling your office computer. (The first time you log in you will be required to proceed your username with "VSU\". For example "VSU\janbrady").
