Modifying Pop-up Blocker Settings For HallNET (Mozilla Firefox)
Hallnet uses the pop-up window pictured below as mechanism to disconnect you from the network.
This window is important, since all students are only allowed to have one device connected to Hallnet at a time. This means that if you are using someone else's computer to connect wirelessly, it is important that you disconnect from the network on their computer, as it may prevent you from logging in on your own computer.
Mozilla Firefox's pop-up blocker has settings that have been known to prevent this window from appearing properly. However, it is possible to adjust these settings without turning your pop-up blocker off altogether using the steps listed below.
Launch Mozilla Firefox.
Click the Tools menu. Then, click Options...
Click the Content tab. Then, click the Exceptions... button to the right of Block pop-up windows.
Enter bluemoon.valdosta.edu in the Address of web site: field. Then, click the Allow button.
You should see bluemoon.valdosta.edu listed in the Site field with the word Allow in the Status field.
Enter redmoon.valdosta.edu in the Address of web site: field. Then, click the Allow button.
You should see redmoon.valdosta.edu listed in the Site field with the word Allow in the Status field.
Click the Close button.
Click the OK button.
Congratulations! You have successfully modified your pop-up blocker settings for Hallnet.
