REPORTED ROBBERY 9-14-2012:

REPORTED ARMED ROBBERY 8-27-2012:

On 08-27-12 there was a report by the Valdosta City police of an armed robbery at Little Jo Court on Baytree Road. The suspects are described as 3 African American males. If you have any information about this incident, please contact University Police at 229-333-7816.

REPORTED ARMED ROBBERY 4-29-12:

It was reported to the Valdosta State University Police Department that an armed robbery occurred outside near the SW corner of Patterson Hall. Suspect is described as an African male, dark clothing and a red baseball cap. People are urged to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity. HOME INVASION -2/24/12:

Valdosta City Police have reported a home invasion near Williams and Moore Street. People are urged to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity. If you have any information in regard to this incident, please contact University Police at 229-259-5555 or 229-333-7816.

ARMED ROBBERY - 1/26/12:

It has been reported to the Valdosta City Police and University Police, that an armed robbery occurred in the 1100 block of Patterson Street, south of the University Center. Suspects are described as 3 African-American males and one African-American female. The suspects were possibly driving a blue Toyota or Honda and were last seen driving North on Patterson Street. SUSPICIOUS PERSON - 1/13/12:

The VSU Police have been made aware that a male subject has been stopping students and requesting to see their identification. This person is not affiliated with the Police Department. Students should not show their identification to anyone but VSU administrative/faculty personnel or to a legitimate police officer. Authorized persons who may ask for identification on our campus will be either identified by uniform or by their own VSU ID card. Please contact our department should you have any questions or concerns regarding this information.

SIMPLE ASSAULT - 8/29/11:

The City Police have reported that a simple assault occurred near the 100 block of E. College on 08-29-11 at around 8 pm. The suspect is described as a white male on a bicycle. The suspect had an unknown sharp object. There is no further description. The college community is urged to use the buddy system when walking at night. ARMED ROBBERY- 8/22/11:

There was a report of an armed robbery at Little Jo Court off of Baytree road near the campus on 08-22-11 at about 10 pm. People are urged to stay inside and any updates will be posted on the VSU web page. Suspect is described as an African American male, 5 '11", yellow shirt and blue jeans. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the University Police Department at 333-7816.

ARMED ROBBERY - 5/5/11:

Early on the morning of 05-05-11, a student reported that he had been robbed on the pedestrian walkway near Nevins Hall. There were two male suspects. The suspects were last seen running in the direction of the Bailey Building. There is no further information at this time. MAGAZINE SALE SCAM - 11/9/09:

The University Police Department has received information concerning two individuals seen both on campus and off campus going door to door selling magazine subscriptions. They associate themselves as being fellow students and members of the Greek Sorority/Fraternity organizations. They claim to be selling magazines for charity. In lieu of buying an annual subscription, they are asking for donations. The individuals in question were described as a white male 6'02, with shaggy blonde hair, wearing surfer type clothing, accompanied by a white female with brown hair. They were last seen leaving the Lil Jo Apartments in a dark colored SUV. Please be aware it is illegal in the City of Valdosta to solicit door to door without a city permit and after dark. Likewise, no one has been authorized to solicit individuals for magazine subscriptions on campus. If you are approached by these individuals on campus please contact the University Police Department at 333-7816.
