Online Budget Reporting Tool

Web Reporting is not functional at this time. Budget Managers will be notified by email when it is available again. Reports are being distributed via email in the interim. If you need a report, please contact Budget Services at VSU ext. 5708 or your Budget Analyst can send you this information.

Financial Services and Information Technology are pleased to announce a new online budget reporting tool! 

This new tool is available to Department Budget Managers only, using the same username and password as the Strategic Planning Database, and is accessible from the following web site:

The following reports are available online:

  • The Budget Progress Report  is a summarized report of a department’s Budget, Expenditures, Encumbrances and Remaining Free Balance at a given point in time. 
  • The General Ledger Account History Report is a detailed report of individual expenditure and encumbrance transactions posted to a particular departmental budget for a specified time period by Account category.  It can also be opened and saved as an Excel file. 

The database is populated with information beginning July, 1, 2008, which is also referred to as the beginning of our Annual 2009 Budget Period (which ends June 30, 2009). 

Data will be refreshed weekly on Sunday evenings, but may be rescheduled if needed for campus operations. 

Since these reports are now available online, Financial Services will discontinue paper versions of the reports.

The system is intuitive and easy to use, but we are currently working on a tutorial that should be posted to the web site soon.  In the meantime, if you have any questions or problems accessing the system, please contact the IT helpdesk at 4357 or, and if you have problems running the reports, please contact Budget Services at 5708.
