About PFCE

Building Internal Relations, Promoting Service Excellence

Workshop Description:

This training is designed for all staff and administrators new to the campus since 2003. The program provides an opportunity to renew our campus commitment to service excellence and discuss customer service in a University setting. Our facilitators use a variety of group dialogue, activities and role play to allow participants to explore the following topics:

  • Building a Campus Service Culture through Personal Accountability, Empowerment, and Teamwork
  • Improving Face to Face and Telephone Interactions
  • Meeting Service Challenges When it is Our Mistake, The Customer’s Mistake, or a System Created Mistake

The 6-hour training session is offered every fall and spring semester.

Additionally, a 2-hour Partners for Campus Excellence session is provided for student employees every fall and spring semester. This class emphasizes the importance of everyone’s role in reducing the campus run-around and providing an exceptional experience with every work area contact. The training is designed to provide general information relevant to all student employees. We focus on the following areas:

  • Your role as a Professional at VSU
  • Creating a Positive First Impression
  • Working with a Diverse Population
  • Face-to-Face, Telephone and Listening Skills
  • Reducing campus "run-around" by learning more about the campus
  • Dealing with the difficult person/situation
