Room Reclaim and Selection

Reclaim Process - Centennial Hall & Converse Hall

Students who currently live in Centennial Hall or Converse Hall will be able to reclaim their same space only if both students in the two-bedroom or half of the current students in a four-person apartment want to reclaim it. Students who live in an efficiency room will be able to reclaim as well. This process will be held three weeks before room selection. If students reclaim their same space, they will not be eligible to attend room selection. Students who are not able to reclaim or do not wish to reclaim their same space may attend room selection and try to receive a new housing space for Fall 2013.

All other students in Centennial Hall and Converse Hall who are not assigned to the same unit for 2013-2014 must move out of their current room assignment at the end of the contract period, which is July 27, 2013, for cleaning and maintenance purposes. All returning students are permitted to move into their new assignment on move-in day for upperclassmen. Students assigned to the same apartment for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 will not be asked to move out July 27. They may stay during the two-week interim period between contracts at no charge as a courtesy.

There will be floor meetings about reclaim and room selection in Centennial. Please see your RA for more details. If you miss the meetings and want to know more information please see your RA, RHD, or CD. Note: If a student has a hold on his or her account, they will not be able to participate in the reclaim process until the hold is removed.

The reclaim process will be held online via a link on the main housing website beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13. This is the pilot online process, and staff will be available during business hours in the Housing and Residence Life Office to assist students as needed. More details will be sent out via email in February.

Room Selection Process

Room selection is the process in which currently enrolled students sign up for a residence hall space for the 2013-2014 academic year. Each student will be allowed to participate based on the number of credit hours completed and GPA. You simply need to report to the Student Union Ballroom C on your designated date and time to sign up for a space on campus. If you plan to live on campus for the 2013-2014 academic school year, there will be a meeting about the process in your current Residence Hall the week of February 25, 2013.

Note: If a student has a hold on his or her account, they will not be able to participate in the room selection process until the hold is removed.
