Welcome to Creative Design Services

Creative Services exists to develop and maintain Valdosta State University’s visual image and marketing materials.

The in-house design studio features a six-person team with more than 25 years of collaborative experience and knowledge, providing campus clients with publications development from concept to completion, including consultation and planning, and graphic design. The team is charged with providing visual communications guidance including usage of the university logo, seal and other visual standards by producing high quality, cost-effective printed materials that enhance the university’s marketing efforts.

The Web Services unit provides campus clients with web design, development and other online services. The team is responsible for providing improvements to VSU's web site and blog environment through collaborations with Information Technology, the Data Warehouse, eLearning and Content Services.

The Content Services unit coordinates web content, social media, editorial services and other written marketing materials for the university. The unit leads a team of content owners across campus to maintain current, relevant content across the university website, portals and social media. Content Services also provides training and consultation for social media and digital marketing.

The Video Production Services unit serves campus clients by providing video and audio production and webcasting services for a wide variety of needs using broadcast-quality television facilities. The team manages the broadcast of athletics events, commencements and other special events on campus, as well as video marketing materials for the university.

Creative services are free, but departments are responsible for any costs associated with printing, photography, digital assets and illustration. Creative Services makes every effort to find the most competitive pricing. Contact Creative Services to guarantee university, college, departmental and program marketing materials present a consistent, uniform and professional image.

All creative work requested by any campus office must be submitted to Creative Services for approval, and the right of first refusal. All campus printing must be submitted to Printing & Copying Services for the right of first refusal. These conditions must be met, regardless of funding source.

Creative Services maintains all visual identity standards for Valdosta State University. Please refer to the Visual Identity Program Guide for more information.

Producing a good publication, web site or social media profile is both an art and a science. The art is getting across your marketing message to a target group. The science is a series of closely related, sequential steps, each playing a crucial role in the creation of your marketing. Please refer to the online publication guide Better Communications by Design for more information about this process.
