E-book Database:  ebrary

Most of the Library's ebrary e-book's can be viewed and read by only one user at a time.  When viewing an ebrary e-book, a percentage of the e-book can be either copied or printed.    A few of the ebrary e-books are unlimited users and these e-books can be downloaded in their entirety.

ebrary - Not Available for Online Reading:  An ebrary e-book is considered "in use" until it has experienced 15 minutes of inactivity. If a given ebrary title is being read by its limit of users, the following message will display, "Not Available for Online  - Sorry, this ebook is currently in use.  Please search for another ebook".  The ebrary e-book  cannot be accessed until one of the current users is done (that could take minutes or several hours).  After signing in via the  ‘free’ profile account (that you may then need to create) you could save the title to your Bookshelf for future reading when available.  Whenever an ebrary e-book of interest isn't available do check the the GIL-Find@VSU Odum Catalog or consider placing a GIL Express or ILLiad request to obtain the title in print, or use the "Live Chat" to consult a Reference Librarian about these and other options.

ebrary Account:  With an ebrary personal account, you can take advantage of the following features:

  • save titles for future use
  • organize saved titles into folders arranged by subject
  • annotate within saved titles with notes and highlights
  • share annotated text with other ebrary users
  • You do not need to create an account to view ebrary e-books online
