Administrative Assistant Certificate Program
The Administrative Assistant Certificate Program is designed for individuals who want to develop skills for a variety of administrative job functions or professional growth. Students attempting this certificate need not apply ahead of time as registration is by course.
Administrative Assistant I Certificate
To earn the certificate you must:
Successfully complete all required and elective courses* within 18 months: minimum of 102 hours.
Maintain a 75% grade average or higher throughout the program. (Additional attendance requirements may apply.)
Apply for VSU Continuing Education Certificate.
*Please note that not all face-to-face classes are offered every semester. New classes are routinely added to elective offerings and some courses may not be offered every term. Online classes are available 24/7.
Required – Complete all:
Administrative Assistant Fundamentals ONLINE: 24 hours
- Computer Skills for the Workplace ONLINE: 24 hours
Keys to Effective Communication ONLINE: 24 hours
Effective Business Writing ONLINE: 24 hours
Electives - Choose two:
Professional Image & Success at Work Nov 17, 4 hours
- Managing Customer Service ONLINE: 24 hours
Accounting Fundamentals ONLINE: 24 hours
- Achieving Success with Difficult People ONLINE: 24 hours
- Organization & Time Management Oct 22, 4 hours
Administrative Assistant II Certificate
Successful completion of Administrative Assistant I Certificate plus these additional courses (minimum 153 hours):
Administrative Assistant Applications ONLINE: 24 hours
- Mastery of Business Fundamentals ONLINE: 24 hours
Electives (choose one):
Fundamentals of Successful Project Management Oct 2, 6 hours
- Project Management Fundamentals ONLINE: 24 hours
Students need not be part of the certificate program to enroll in these classes.
