Advisement and Registration
Before a VSU student can register for courses, the student must be advised. Your academic advisor was assigned when you were admitted to Valdosta State. If you recently transitioned into your major or changed programs, you should have been assigned to a new advisor. Once you have been advised, your academic advisor will raise your registration flag.
If you don’t know who your advisor is, log into MyVSU, select Banner Registration, Student Services & Financial Aid tab, Student Records and then Degree Works or contact your academic department.
The dates for registration can vary depending upon your program, your student year (e.g., freshman, junior, graduate student), and the academic calendar that your courses follow.
All VSU students register for their courses using the Banner Registration System accessible through MyVSU. Remember: check the calendar for your program and make sure you have been advised and your advising flag lifted before registration opens for your program.
For assistance with Banner or questions related to registration, contact the Office of the Registrar at 229-333-5727. Be sure to have your student ID available when you call.
