Panama - RuinsPanama is at the hub of Latin America serving as a crossroads from East to West and North to South. It is home to a number of Indigenous and ethniccommunities with a cultural heritage rich in creativity, rural and urban development, andpolitical advocacy. The region is shaped by a legacy of colonization, U.S. foreign intervention,dictatorships, and grassroots movements dedicated to positive social change.

 

You will be able to earn up to 8 credit hours, and  work on a local service learning project. You will be immersed in the culture as you will be staying with Spanish speaking host families for 18 of the 23 days of the program. Trips are included to the internationally famous Ciudad de Panama, rural villages in the north of Panama, and cities like Bocas del Toro which have a tourist driven economy.
