Career Opportunities Hosts Part-Time Job Fair Aug. 16

VALDOSTA — The Office of Career Opportunities at Valdosta State University will kick off Fall Semester 2017 with a part-time job fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, in the Student Union Ballroom.

All attendees should dress professionally, arrive early, and bring several copies of their resume.

The part-time job fair features more than two dozen professional representatives from the food service, retail, banking, legal, information technology, distribution and supply chain, military, childcare, nonprofit, fitness, healthcare, theme park, and social services career fields. More employers may be added to the list between now and the day of the event.

Throughout Fall Semester 2017, Career Opportunities will host several special events, including Blazer Ready Workshop: Creating Captivating Resumes from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, in Student Union Meeting Room No. 1; Employer in Residence from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Hopper Hall; Blazer Ready Workshop: Coordinating Professional Interview Attire from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Student Union Meeting Room No. 1; and Employer in Residence from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, in Georgia Hall.

VSU’s Office of Career Opportunities strives to provide career development and awareness, experiential learning and/or cooperative education, and professional employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Its staff collaborates with the university’s employer and community partners to develop the employment potential of students and graduates and to utilize their innovative, intellectual talents. It is located in the University Center, Entrance No. 5.
