Neeman Piano Duo Performs Feb. 27

 Dr. Edward Neeman and Dr. Stephanie Neeman, a husband and wife duo, have performed together globally for nine years.  

 VALDOSTA — The Valdosta State University Department of Music will present the Neeman Piano Duo live in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, in Whitehead Auditorium. Admission is free of charge and open to all faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees, and friends of the university.
 
Dr. Edward Neeman and Dr. Stephanie Neeman, a husband and wife duo, have performed together globally for nine years. The two met while studying at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He is a native Australian and she is from Indonesia. Their unique repertoire includes original arrangements of Broadway songs, popular hits, and classical music. The program lineup features music by Francis Poulenc, Manuel Caracol, Franz Schubert, and Samuel Barber.
 
Edward Neeman is a teacher, performer, and composer. He regularly teaches masterclasses (expert-level music classes) around the world. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from The Julliard School and has won numerous international piano competitions.
 
Stephanie Neeman won first place in the Yamaha National Piano Competition, the Empire State International Piano Competition, and the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition. She was also a top prizewinner and won the prize for the best interpretation of Franz Liszt at the Liszt-Garrison International Piano Competition in the United States. She is an active international performer and educator and serves as an assistant professor of piano in VSU’s Department of Music.
 
Whitehead Auditorium is located on the first floor of the Fine Arts Building, at the intersection of Oak Street and Brookwood Drive.
