Sixth Annual Read Fest
VALDOSTA -- Odum Library will celebrate Read Fest from 9:30 - 11
a.m. on Friday, April 13, on the VSU front lawn. Read Fest is an
annual event to mark National Library Week.
Each year, Odum Library invites students from local elementary
schools to come and experience the library in a fun and educational
way. The library offers stations with activities including hula
hoops, making bookmarks, a puppet read-along, temporary tattoos,
coloring, jump rope, ice cream, and much more!
Volunteers from Odum Library, the Education Department and several
other campus organizations will lead the children in these
activities. Sponsored by the American Library Association, National
Library Week celebrates the contributions of the nation’s libraries
and librarians and encourages library use and support.
