Office of Career Services Hosts Spring Career Expo and EducationCareer Day

VALDOSTA -- The Office of Career Services is hosting the Spring Career Expo from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, in the University Center Magnolia Room and an Education Career Day from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, in the Magnolia and Cypress Rooms.

During the Career Expo, current students and alumni will have the opportunity come and meet with employers from health care, insurance, retail, government and wholesale businesses as well as graduate school representatives. Employers will be able to discuss internships/practicums and full-time employment opportunities with prospective, qualified job applicants.

There will be two information sessions following the Career Expo. Individuals can register to attend the U.S. Department of State session from 3 - 4 p.m. and the Peace Corps session from 5 - 6 p.m. in Powell Hall West, second floor.

The Education Career Day will begin with an open forum from 10 - 11:30 a.m. for participants to meet informally with school system representatives to discuss opportunities within their system. Interviews will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., which will be scheduled during the open forum.

Participants should arrive early, dress professionally and bring several resumes to both events. The first 100 attendees will receive a prize, and all attendees will also be able to register for two $100 grand cash prizes.

A list of participating organizations and school systems can be viewed online at www.valdosta.edu/career. Please contact DeLois Hargett at dhargett@valdosta.edu or 229-333-5942 to register for the information sessions and for more information about the events.
