On Tuesday, Feb. 21, VSU Continuing Education will kick off Zumba, a fitness routine that blends traditional dance steps with basic fitness moves, all to the beat of hot Latin dance rhythms. This class will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through March 27. The cost is $59.

From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, VSU Continuing Education will offer All About Herbs, a one-day course that will teach students how to identify edible, aromatic, and medicinal herbs, as well as the best techniques for growing and caring for them. The cost is $15.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, VSU Continuing Education will offer a one-day course on Cake Decorating Basics. On Monday, Feb. 27, VSU Continuing Education will kick off a Drawing with Charcoal class, teaching students how to draw still life settings and portraits using various techniques. This class will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays through March 26. The cost is $89 and does not include supplies.

From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, VSU Continuing Education will offer a one-day course on Wine Tasting 101. Students will discover select California wines, be introduced to wine selection and the wine tasting ritual, and learn about elements of American wine history and suggestions for food pairing combinations with both red and white wines. This class is limited to 12 students. The cost is $39.

On Thursday, March 15, VSU Continuing Education will kick off Computer Boot Camp, a class designed to help students increase their knowledge of personal computers. Students will learn computer vocabulary, parts and operations, basic word processing, and the Internet, and they will discover simple troubleshooting solutions for common computer malfunctions. The cost is $59.

Additional classes will start in late March and April.

All those interested in taking a personal enrichment class at VSU are encouraged to register early to avoid additional fees.

Classes will be canceled three days prior to start dates if, at that time, there is not sufficient enrollment to cover costs, noted Continuing Education staff members.

All classes will meet in the Regional Center for Continuing Education, located at 903 N. Patterson St., unless otherwise noted in the course description.
