STOP Hunger Scholarships Deadline

VALDOSTA -- Blazer Dining invites Valdosta State University
students to apply for the 2011 STOP Hunger Scholarships sponsored
by the Sodexo Foundation -- the charitable arm of Sodexo, Inc.,
which provides food services for the VSU campus. Applications for
the $5,000 scholarship, with matching funds given to each student's
hunger-related charity, will be accepted until Friday, Feb.
18.
Scholarships are open to students (kindergarten through graduate
school) enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the
United States. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to reducing
hunger in their community through unpaid volunteer work within the
last 12 months, with added consideration given to students working
to fight childhood hunger.
More than 49 million people are at risk of hunger, including nearly
17 million children. The Sodexo Foundation works to ensure that
every child in the U.S. grows up with dependable access to the
nutritious food needed for them to lead healthy, productive
lives.
