VSU Upgrades CampusConnect
VALDOSTA -- The Office of Student Life announced upgrades to
CampusConnect -- its interactive, student organization management
system, which was introduced last spring as a way to link student
organizations with members of the campus community. Nearly 2,500
students are members of the system, which enables them to view the
activities of VSU’s 175 student organizations, track service hours,
and create personal profiles with pictures and posts.
Allie Sanders, graduate assistant in the Office of Greek Life, said
Student Life is offering a series of training sessions to instruct
students about how to navigate CampusConnect. Students interested
in attending a training session -- 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct.
27, or 4-5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 -- should contact Student Life
at 229-333-5674. CampusConnect Manuals are available at www.valdosta.edu/stulife/CampusConnectManuals.shtml
“CampusConnect is a great resource for students because they are
able to be a part of an online community with other students. With
the event flyer board, students are able to see what events are
taking place with other student organizations all in one location,”
Sanders said. “CampusConnect is becoming popular with the student
body as they are learning how to use it.”
CampusConnect is being used by campuses across the nation as a
management tool to assist student organizations in recruiting
members and creating a community for student organizations to
communicate with one another. Each organization has its own site
that allows members to participate in discussion posts and keep
track of events, and one main electronic flyer board displays all
events in one convenient location. Resume-building resources are
also available.
