VSU Hosts Spring 2010 Science Seminar Series

VALDOSTA -- Innovative approaches to renewable energy will be the focus of the first installment of Valdosta State University's Spring 2010 Science Seminar Series, which will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in Powell Hall Auditorium.

Guest lecturer Sean Bartonwill speak about "Solar Chimneys and Inflatable Vacuum Chambers: a new approach in renewable energy." During the presentation, the Florida State University physics professor will discuss the practical, economic and structural aspects of these potential advancements in energy efficiency.

The annual series will continue through the semester with weekly appearances by both VSU professors and visiting lecturers who will focus on a variety of topics including biology, chemistry, psychology and philosophy. Beginning this Thursday and continuing through Thursday, Nov. 19, each will take place at 4 p.m. in the Powell Hall Auditorium.
