Student Move-in Days: Aug. 12-14

VALDOSTA - With the opening of the newly constructed Georgia Hall and the reopening of Reade Hall, a record number of students will move onto VSU campus Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 12-14.

In order to address student needs during these days, faculty and staff reserved spaces, excluding handicapped spaces, on main campus and the lots along Georgia Avenue will be designated for student parking from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. This change will allow ample parking and easy flow of traffic for the more than 1,800 students moving into residence halls.

Faculty and staff parking will be available in the lots near Admissions, the Alumni House, the University Center and Oak Street Deck and surface lot. Parking and Transportation will provide a shuttle bus from Oak Street and other lots off main campus to the shuttle bus stop on Patterson Street at VSU's main entrance.

Other parking updates and changes, as well as a campus parking map, can be viewed on the Parking and Transportation Web site at http://services.valdosta.edu/parking/ .

Students in Patterson and Hopper, as well as the newly opened Georgia and Reade halls will be the first to move in Wednesday. Those in Langdale, Lowndes and Brown will take their places on Thursday. All upperclassmen will move into Centennial, Converse and Hopper on Friday. More information on housing and move-in is available at http://services.valdosta.edu/housing/docs/BHN_Summer_09_WEB.pdf .
