Blazer Build Begins Friday, Jan. 23

VALDOSTA - VSU student athletes will share the spotlight with Habitat for Humanity at the fifth annual Blazer Build, beginning Friday, Jan. 23.

For the next three weekends, VSU sports team members will don tool belts instead of athletic gear to help the non-profit organization build homes for those in need. They will work in 4-hour shifts from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at the build site on West Adair Street.

Athletic staff and boosters will join students during some shifts and volunteers from other departments can join the effort from 8 a.m. until noon Friday, Feb. 6.

Blazer Build has been very successful, resulting in six completed houses during the four previous years’ events.
